Story Inspiration
The inspiration for Where the Gulls Fall Silent was the rugged beauty of the Cornish Coast. My husband and I holidayed there in 2019 and I fell in love with the scenery, pace of life, people and their stories. From day one walking the cliffs plot ideas were swirlling in my mind. Over a wine (or two) I got talking with some locals who shared tales of their town's history, traditions and superstitions. And I had to know more!
From this wonderful time spent with the people of Cornwall came a quiet and unassuming story of coming of age, community, challenges, triumphs and the power of love.
It doesn't shout and demand, but it sure punches above its weight!

And the cover!
Based on a painting created for me by a dear and extremely talented friend of mine (@creatively_kimberly), the imagery matches the subject matter of the story perfectly.
I am so grateful to Kimberly for sharing her talent with me and to my husband for taking her image and turning it into a real cover.
